There is a variety of important things to remember when you're about to get onto a plane: tickets, passport, iPhone SIM Only small toiletries in the hand luggage in a see-through bag, no nail clippers or anything that could be considered a blade… the list goes on. With so much to think about, you might easily forget to make preparations to guard against flight sickness and this can result in a long, unpleasant journey.
Obviously, the best way to protect yourself from feeling queasy in flight is simply to pack an anti-nausea pill in your carry-on baggage. Take it as soon as you get onto the plane and you should feel fine for the duration of your journey.
However, if in the flurry that inevitably accompanies packing you find that you have forgotten to buy medication, don't panic. You are not necessarily doomed to feel sick throughout the flight. The first thing that you should do, however, is to order a carbonated water from the air hostess. The bubbles in this kind of drink will soothe the nausea, and the water will, obviously, keep you hydrated.
In addition to sipping regularly on something fizzy, try to keep your attention focused on a stationary point in the plane. Don't look out of the window; rather keep your eyes in front of you and concentrate on taking deep, slow breaths.
Flight sickness is a real hassle. Unless you take measures to allay it, you will find yourself queasy throughout your journey. If you realise you have forgotten to pack the appropriate medication, it is a good idea to immediately take some other preventative measure.
